Making AJAX Applications Crawlable

Google Code is providing you with the info about making your AJAX applications crawlable. If you're running an AJAX application with content that you'd like to appear in search results, we have a new process that, when implemented, can help Google (and potentially other search engines) crawl and index your content. Historically, AJAX applications have been difficult for search engines to process because AJAX content is produced dynamically by the browser and thus not visible to crawlers. While there are existing methods for dealing with this problem, they involve regular manual maintenance to keep the content up-to-date.

Another excellent effort by the gurus at Google. Google is now offering translation to and from Urdu.

Although in Alpha, the tool will definitely help researchers, students and lovers of Urdu language to work in a better way by incorporating Urdu to computers.

Linux on the iPhone: Android running on iPhone!

Planetbeing has announced that he has got Android running on the iPhone.

"Finally breaking radio silence to bring you Android on the iPhone. :)"

I've been working on this quietly in the background. Sorry about the initial video quality, but YouTube promises that the quality will get better as the video gets processed more. The back part of the version I uploaded to Vimeo was cut off.

In the video below Android is demonstrated on an iPhone 2G; however, it should be pretty simple to port forward to the iPhone 3G. The 3GS will take more work.

Google Dashboard: Find Out What Google Knows About You

If you’re concerned that Google is starting to know a bit too much about you, you might be interested to find out that Google has released Google Dashboard, a window onto the data that Google stores about your accounts.
All you need to do is go to www.google.com/dashboard and log into your account. You’ll be presented with a list of all of the Google services that you use, and the data that is stored in them.

Google Opens Up Its EPUB Archive: Download 1 Million Books for Free

Google just announced that it will now allow users to download over 1 million public domain books in the EPUB format. Google had already made this archive available to some of its partners, including Sony and Barnes and Noble, but until today users weren't able to download these free EPUB texts from Google directly. Google will continue to make PDF versions of these books available for download as well, but users with eReader's will find the new EPUB files far more useful.
